Blabbermout.net is reporting that despite rumors to the contrary apparently started by frontman Zack De la Rocha, Rage Against the Machine will not be making a comeback album in the foreseeable future. As guitarist Tom Morello told The Pulse of Radio:
"Right now there are no... You know, the band is not writing songs, the band is not in the studio," he said. "We get along famously and we all, you know, intend to do more Rage Against The Machine stuff in the future, but beyond sort of working out a concert this year, there's nothing else on the schedule."
The band's only scheduled show of 2011 is the L.A. Rising concert on July 30th with Muse and Rise Against among others.
Their last album was 2000's covers album Renegades. The band has been back together since 2007 after disbanding, but only as an occasional live act.
