Marilyn Manson releases new song teaser.

According to Blabbermouth.net Marilyn Manson has released a teaser clip from the bands' forthcoming new album. The 26-second video teaser for what he calls "an undisclosed song with an unreleased title." You can check out the clip below. In addition, the singer has posted the following message on his web site to accompany the track, which may or may not be titled "I Am Among No One":

"Brave Now World. Don’t ever believe what you read, especially if you are illiterate. Art will be the burning churches, burning beds, burning witches, burning bridges, burning Cadillacs, burning forests, burning flags, and the burning human remains that are the evidence of the burned books, filled with stories of our razor and rope burns.

"But we will not be the ashes. We will not be cremated, we will cauterize our wounds. We never wanted our wings anyway.

"We are more than the flightless creatures, that are always expected to rise from the bonfire. These are barbecues for trembling, idiot arsons who pretend to be America’s Vatican in whatever ‘ism’ is easiest to swallow. After the horrid blowing jobs, they expect us to fight against each other to obtain the security of willing slaves.

"We do not walk among them. I am among no one."

Marilyn Manson is currently in the studio with his bandmates finishing his eighth studio album, set for release later in the year through Cooking Vinyl Records.

Drummer Ginger Fish (real name: Kenneth Robert Wilson) quit MARILYN MANSON in February and has since joined ROB ZOMBIE.

MARILYN MANSON in 2009 parted ways with longtime record label Interscope following the disappointing sales performance of the shock-rocker's latest album, entitled "The High End Of Low".

"The High End Of Low" was Manson's first album with longtime bassist Twiggy Ramirez since 2000's "Holy Wood".  The clip can be viewed at this link on vimeo.

Rob Zombie, Whitesnake and others sue UMG for royalties.

According to the Courthouse News Service, Rob Zombie, WHITESNAKE and folk musician Dave Mason have filed a federal class action against UMG Recordings (Universal Music Group), accusing the label of not paying artists to license their music as digital downloads and ringtones.

The suit follows a victory on similar grounds several months ago by producers of Eminem's early recordings, and a similar suit filed last month by the estate of Rick James.

According to The New York Times, "In all of these cases, the artists or their associates say that their record company violated their contracts by counting a digital download as a sale instead of a licensing, which would result in a substantially higher royalty."

The definition could mean the difference between 10-15%, and a 50% cut for artists.

"Plaintiffs here allege, and the Ninth Circuit found, that digital download and ringtone income received by UMG derives from a license," according to the complaint.

"By this lawsuit, Plaintiffs seek to compel UMG to account to and pay its other recording artists and music producers (i.e. those not directly involved in the [Eminem] litigation) their rightful share of the licensing income paid to UMG for downloads and mastertones [ringtones] of the recorded music licensed by UMG to these entities," the lawsuit states.

Rob Zombie discusses drummer switch.

In an interview with The Pulse of Radio Rob Zombie talked about the difference between outgoing drummer Joey Jordison (Slipknot/The Murder Dolls) and the incoming Ginger Fish (ex-Marilyn Manson). Here is an except of the chat:

"It's hard to describe how they're different," he said. "I mean, you know,Joey's a very, like, more of a power drummer I would say, you know, just a more bombastic sort of drummer, and Ginger's more of a, kind of like a groove-style drummer. It's kind of funny 'cause as with anything, either style seems to work really well with our music, so it's good."

Ginger first played with Zombie this winter when Jordison had to leave for a Murderdolls tour of Europe. Fish officially quit Marilyn Manson this march in the middle of recording that groups next album. The first extensive touring Fish will do with his new band will be on this summers' tour of the US and Canada with Zombie and Slayer co-headlining. Exodus will be the opening act. You can read the VDOB story about that tour here.

Rob Zombie unveils future touring, film making schedule

Rob Zombie has announced that former MARILYN MANSON drummer, Ginger Fish, has joined the Zombie fold and will make his debut on the band's first major European tour in nearly 12 years, kicking off June 3rd in Nurnburg, Germany. Zombie and the band - Fish, guitarist JOHN 5 and Piggy D on bass - will play major European summer festivals including the UK's Download, Italy's Sonisphere, and Roskilde in Denmark, as well as headlining a slew of their own shows.

Stated Zombie, "The band just got even weirder, and weirder is always better."

Then, Zombie will join SLAYER for the 12-city Hell On Earth North American tour. The co-headline trek kicks off July 20th at the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA, blazing across the country until it wraps up August 6th in Seattle, WA. San Francisco's thrash-metal band EXODUS has been confirmed to open all shows.

"Total destruction on stage and off is what this combination promises," said Zombie. "Seriously, how much more Hell could you ask for? The answer is none more Hell."

For the North American dates, Zombie will be bringing his full, legendary stage show out in full force. Audiences can expect an exploding, non-stop barrage of sin, sex and Satan, guaranteed to rip your face off. This will be a true rock'n'roll spectacle at its finest.

Immediately following the Hell On Earth tour, Zombie will begin production on his sixth feature film, The Lords Of Salem, that he wrote and will direct.

Set to be filmed in Los Angeles and Salem, MA, Zombie explains, "There were twenty people that everyone knows about, obviously all innocent, executed as witches in Salem. The basic premise of the film is that there was a small coven, actual witches, who were put to death secretly, and vowed one day to return to wreak havoc on Salem's descendants.

"As it stands now, this is probably the bleakest of all of my films," Zombie continued, "a long, slow decent into the bowels of Hell."

And then there's the Woolite commercial that was shot in Vancouver and completed in mid-April. "It's a very bizarre TV commercial for a product like this," said Zombie. "Honestly, I was shocked when they called me to do it."

If all of this isn't enough, Zombie just finished directing a special for Comedy Central, entitled Tom Papa: Live In New York City. The special was shot over two days in NYC, and features comedian Tom Papa from NBC's The Marriage Ref in his first stand-up special.

"Tom and I worked together on my animated film The Haunted World of El Superbeasto and had a blast," says Zombie. "So when Tom asked me to direct his first special, I couldn't refuse. He's a brilliant stand-up comic."

The complete Rob Zombie 2011 itinerary is as follows:

Rob Zombie, Slayer and Exodus US tour dates for summer of 2011

SLAYER AND ROB ZOMBIE TO BRING HELL ON EARTH TO NORTH AMERICA
The Two Metal Icons Will Together for the First Time in More than a Decade

LOS ANGELES, CA - MONDAY, March 28, 2011 -- Get ready for hell on earth, because for the first time since they tour together on Ozzfest 1999, Rob Zombie and Slayer are teaming up to hit the road, bringing a glorious purgatory to fans in 12 North American cities. The co-headline trek kicks off Wednesday, July 20 at the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA. Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 1 at 10:00AM local time. Tickets for all shows are available at the venues' box office, and via the online outlets as listed below.

"We haven't toured with Zombie since Ozzfest 1999, so you can expect no less than 'hell on earth,'" said Slayer's Kerry King. "Total sonic annihilation and a visual bludgeoning. Bring your own body bag..."

"Total destruction on stage and off is what this combination promises," states Zombie, "Seriously, how much more Hell could you ask for? The answer is none more Hell."

Both Zombie and Slayer will present their full headline sets at every show, and both bands will close shows over the course of the tour. San Francisco's thrash-metal band Exodus has been confirmed to open all shows.

Slayer has been performing its classic 1990 Seasons In the Abyss album in its entirety over the past several months, but will instead draw from its entire 30-year catalogue for this tour's setlist.

Never one to play it safe, Zombie will be bringing his legendary stage show out in full force. Audiences can expect an exploding non-stop barrage of sin, sex and Satan guaranteed to rip your face off. This a true rock and roll spectacle at its finest.

Rob Zombie: With more than 15 million albums sold, seven Grammy nominations, the helming of five major motion pictures (including the #1 record-breaking Halloween) and dozens of music videos under his belt, Zombie is truly a force to be reckoned with in today's entertainment landscape. For over 25 years his unique meld of horror and hard rock has influenced his sound as a musician, and more recently, his vision as a director and writer. After the tour, Zombie will be starting production on his sixth feature film, The Lords of Salem, with the producers of the Paranormal Activity franchise.

Slayer: The Chicago Tribune's Greg Kot wrote that the four-time-nominated, two-time Grammy winning Slayer is "one of the great American rock bands of the last 30 years, forget about genre." Indeed, few bands come close to matching the intensity that Slayer brings to its live shows, having been named "Best Live Band" by numerous media outlets including Revolver, SPIN, and Metal Hammer. With songs that mirror the turmoil and aberrations of our society - God's terrifying global genocide, the chaos of our broken political system, chemical warfare, the hideous minds of serial killers, and the way-too-close proximity of world horrors that technology has brought us, Slayer remains crushing and brutal, steadfastly refusing to cater to the Mainstream.

Rob Zombie and Slayer rumored to team up for US tour

Sources close to one of the bands has hinted to us that Rob Zombie and Slayer are likely to coheadline a tour in the US this summer. We have no other details at this time. Rob Zombie is scheduled to play a radio festival in July with All That Remains and As I Lay Dying on the bill. It could be possible that either of those bands are on the Slayer and Rob Zombie tour. We will have more info on this tour soon.

Rob Zombie to unveil big tour announcement on Monday, March 28th

Rob Zombie is set to unveil a big tour announcement on Monday, March 28th. While we do not have any info or have heard any rumors, there is a possibility that this could be the Uproar Festival?

Uproar debuted last year as a tour created by the people who are behind Mayhem Festival, Vans Warped Tour & Taste Of Chaos. The Uproar tour was announced last year in early May. This seems a bit early for the Uproar announcement.

If Rob Zombie goes on a headline tour what bands would likely tour with him? Here are a few bands we think would be awesome to see on a tour with Zombie:

Danzig
Mastodon
Hank 3
Melvins
Lacuna Coil
Anthrax
Dragonforce

Thoughts?

Rob Zombie says White Zombie will never reunite.

In two separate and wide ranging interviews with the RockAAA and The Pulse of Radio Rob Zombie discusses the possibility of a White Zombie reunion:

“I don't see the point. I think as with most things people have a memory of something like, 'I saw them when I was 14 years old and it was the greatest thing ever, but if they saw us now they'd probably go 'I wish I hadn't see that reunion, it was awful.'

This revelation no doubt will come as a disappointment to long time fans who have hoped someday for some kind of reconciliation. We have seen the solo Zombie become more about his trendy commercial solo material and the hyper visual live performances and much less about the great songs he played in White Zombie. Rob doesn't see it that way and defends his thinking:

“The crowds are really, really young and I've been noticing that with the set list too, because you know, as time has gone on, we've really worked the White Zombie material more out of the set, because we've been finding that it's not working like it used to,” and “It seems like that those songs just seem now old to people and it's very strange.”

Rob might be surprised to find out that catering to his young fans has earned him a new audience and respect from them, his older fans might disagree about the quality of the material. When questioned about the history of the band as detailed in Sean Yseult's book “I'm In The Band”, Rob was nonplussed:

“I have not seen it (her book) so I can't comment. I can barely remember those days, so I'm glad somebody can.”

On Sean's assertion that the departure of Ivan DePrume led to the eventual split:

“Everybody likes to make up stories which aren't true. I don't think that's fair. Ivan left the band, John Tempesta came in and the band sounded better than ever, we kept playing and made bigger records and did more tours so I don't see how that had anything to do with it.”.

For those who haven't seen it, Sean's book is an amazing document of the history of the band and a great read for fans unsatisfied with Rob's version of events. Not strictly a memoir, it is also full of never before seen photos, stories from other band members and all manner of memorabilia that Sean saved from her time in the group. It is further proof that White Zombie was a great band for the times and the fact that its legacy is being killed off nightly is very sad for metal.

New York Dolls On CrueFest 2011?

New York Dolls guitarist Sylvain Sylvain spoke to www.JoeMatera.com and revealed his band is performing on a US tour with Motley Crue this summer. Here is an excerpt from that interview:

"Unfortunately, Frank won't be joining us for our upcoming tours basically because he wants to make some of his own records as he has had some good offers and so wants to pursue those. And we're about to go on the road for 40 nights with Motley Crue this coming June-July in the States, and that's a lot of work and so he chose not to be there. But we made some calls and now we finally have got Earl Slick playing guitar. So Earl's going to be joining us for the upcoming tour. He's the newest member of the New York Dolls, if I can put that right now."

This leads us at VDOB to believe that a CrueFest 2011 announcement is not far away. I think it is safe to say that the following bands will likely be on the festival:

Motley Crue
Sixx: A. M.
New York Dolls

Other possible bands could include Poison, Slash, Rob Zombie or Alice Cooper.

This post has been updated. You can read new information about the New York Dolls and CrueFest by clicking HERE.

Ozzy Osbourne Drummer Speaks On Joining Ozzy's Band And Relationship With Rob Zombie

Away-Team.com recently interviewed Ozzy Osbourne drummer Tommy Clufetos. Here are a few excerpts from the interview:

Q: So how did you get the gig with Ozzy? Did you have to audition? Or did they call you and say “Hey, what are you doing? We want you to play with us”? How did that work out?

Clufetos: "I was kinda in the right place at the right time. I was brought in to help out during Gus G.’s audition, he came in from Greece, and their drummer at the time couldn’t make it, so I was asked to do it just so Gus could be comfortable and focus on playing guitar… and the music would be solid. So that’s what I came in to do, and then they asked me to play at a thing called Blizzcon in California, which again Mike Bordin, who’s an amazing drummer, could not make due to commitments with FAITH NO MORE. They asked me to do that, and out of those couple experiences they asked me to join the band. So I was very lucky, and excited, and so ecstatic to say ‘Yes’."

Q: Now, you left ROB ZOMBIE’s band to take the gig with Ozzy, I understand Rob was a little bitter when you left him. Have you spoken to him since, and managed to salvage your friendship?

Clufetos: "I have not spoken to him. But I have nothing but great things to say about Rob and my time spent there, and ya know I base our relationship on what I saw when I was there and I have nothing but great things to say about that. I wouldn’t say anything negative, just because of a couple statements in the press. So, no hard feelings on my end. I wish him, his wife Sheri, and all the guys nothing but the best. I still think the world of all of them. So, that’s how I feel.

Rocklahoma 2011 lack of rumors

While we can only confirm Drowning Pool for Rocklahoma 2011 so far, we have learned new information about the festival. The 2010 festival featured a line up consisting of more modern acts, such as Godsmack, Lacuna Coil, Buchcherry, Three Days Grace, Saving Able etc. We have learned that the 2011 line up will feature more retro hard rock acts. While we have only been able to confirm one band, here are a list of bands we think could be possibilites to be on Rocklahoma 2011:

ZZ Top (They were there last year and went over very well)
Judas Priest (last US tour so why not?)
Scorpions (See Judas Priest)
Warrant (New album coming out soon)
Steel Panther (See Warrant)
Poison (30th anniversary tour)
Rob Zombie (A suprise act that would go over well in my opinion)
Alice Cooper (No reason he shouldn't be a headliner)
Whitesnake (See Warrant)

We have not heard any of those bands as being rumored. Hell, we haven't heard of one rumored band to be honest with you. The bands mentioned above are possibilites that make sense.

Van Halen officially return in 2011

Van Halen have officially began recording a new album witb David Lee Roth on vocals and grammy award winning producer John Shanks. The album is slated for a 2011 release.

The band will record their first all-new studio album since 1998's Van Halen III and their first with original singer David Lee Roth since 1983's 1984.

Producer Ross Hogarth was rumored to have produced several tracks with the band that had other musicians in awe when they heard the material. This was denied by the Van Halen camp yet Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 was one of a handful of musicians giving kudos the new music he claimed to have heard.
